Chrism Mass

Wednesday 17th April, 7:30pm
at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King

The Lenten Journey, which we are traveling, invites us to raise our eyes to the goal: we are following Our Lord Jesus Christ first to Golgotha and then, having descended with Him into the tomb, to experience the ever new and life-giving power of His Resurrection. The Holy Places of our faith are eloquent witnesses of this extraordinary event, which has changed the course of history and opened up a new hope for humanity. Once again, from every part of the Church, expressions of solidarity come together effectively in the Good Friday Collection. This enables the Catholic communities of the Holy Land to help in their turn, the poor and suffering of every ethnicity and every faith, without distinction.

Lady or Sacred Heart Altar Lamps at Star will only be lit when intentions have been requested.
OLSS: Sanctuary: Raymond Hivey (sick)
SToC: Sanctuary: Those preparing for reception into the Church

ALTAR WINE/BREADS: Parishioners are invited to make a donation of £10 for altar wine/breads in memory of a loved one. Please place your donation in an envelope with the intention and Church and place it on the collection plate or drop it off at the parish office.
OLSS: Apr: McEvoy & McLennan families May: John & Norah Latham
SToC: Apr: Stephen Prior

The contact details for parishes in the Holy Land are available this week-end, a little later than usual, but we hope that your response will be no less enthusiastic. We have sent over 2,000 cards from our Pastoral Area in past years and we know that they are really well received as a measure of our support in the difficult climate in which parishes are struggling today.
Please remember to return your cards to the back of church so that the Justice and Peace Group can post them off to the Latin Patriarchate which will ensure that they reach their destination. Feel free to include your own address, if you wish, and there are greetings in Arabic for you to enclose with your cards. Thank-you.

You may have noticed there have been some re-arrangements of the side chapels in St. Thomas’ Church this week. It is hoped that these changes will offer a more prayerful environment, improve the safety of these areas and also provide easier access.

The cost for enrolment in the Mass Association and Card is £7.50. To enrol and purchase a card, please fill in a Mass Association slip and place in envelop with donation. Holy Mass and prayers will be offered for all people enrolled in the Mass Association once a month for 12 months.
There will also be special remembrances for the Mass Association at Christmas, Easter and on the Feast Days of St Thomas of Canterbury & Our Lady Star of the Sea.
