Seventh Sunday of Easter 2nd June 2019

Fr. Dominic’s Desk
This week, in light of our Liturgy meeting on Tuesday night, the feast of Our Lady’s Visitation made me realise how we are all called to respond with open hearts and willing minds.
The question is do we put Mary up on a pedestal to admire from a distance or do we take her life, and example as encouragement and challenge to respond with a heartfelt ‘Yes’ to God’s invitation coming through the voices of other parts of Christ’s Body, the Church? Let us learn from Our Lady to see invites as opportunities to serve God rather than look for excuses to say no.

St Thomas Family Group

Our next Family Group activity will be a shared table in the Canterbury room. We will meet on 8th June 2019 at 12pm at the Canterbury Room entrance at St Thomas church. The idea is to bring some finger food and enjoy the company of each other. Can you please contact Paula to let her know if you are coming, so she has an idea of numbers on 07701065864 or stthomasfg@gmail.com. Alternatively, speak to Paula after 11:15am Mass this weekend.

CHURCHES TOGETHER – Sunday 9th June 2019, 3.00pm – 5.00pm
Join us on Pentecost Sunday for an afternoon of prayer and unity as we celebrate the strong links between Liverpool’s two Cathedrals.
Celebrations will start at the Metropolitan Cathedral with a service at 3pm. After the service, Church Leaders will congregate on the piazza outside of the Cathedral, and visitors are encouraged to meet with them. From here, people are invited to make their own pilgrimage to Liverpool Cathedral. At Liverpool Cathedral there will be an informal Taizé style service beginning at 4:30pm.
We would like to encourage everyone to attend and pray together that through God’s Spirit we may bring hope and blessing to our city and region.
