News from the Parish

Fr Dominic’s Desk

This week I just want to say a big thank you for all the kind words on my tenth anniversary of ordination and to share with you a couple of quotes, by Sr. Joan Chittister, that I came back to me as I reflected on my Journey thus far:
“Learning to let go, learning to find our way by other directions, staying open to new ways and new paths and new ideas, is, more often than not, the only way there is to get where we are really mean to go.”
“Learning to love is the challenge of a lifetime because it requires us to think about something other than ourselves. Learning to be lovable is an even greater challenge because it requires that we make ourselves a joy to others.”
I am on call this week from Sunday evening till Monday evening so in the unlikely event that I am called away on Monday morning Mass will of course have to be cancelled at the last minute. Please do keep in your prayers all those people who are in our Hospitals and all who care for them.

A Trinitarian Prayer
God for us, we call you Father.
God alongside us, we call you Jesus.
God within us, we call you Holy Spirit.
You are the eternal mystery that
enables, enfolds, and enlivens all things,
Even us and even me.
Every name falls short of your goodness and greatness.
We can only see who you are in what is.
We ask for such perfect seeing –
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
Amen.
