Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Fr. Dominic’s Desk:
Lourdes is this week and as usual there is no slowing down before I go but rather an increase in busyness as I have a yr6 retreat and High School Staff Mass on Monday, and leaver’s Mass on Tuesday as well as meetings too numerous to mention. Not to mention, as I write this, the small matter of starting the process of packing for Lourdes. While it would in some ways be nice to have a little more wriggle room at this time of year I wouldn’t change the retreats, which are so important to give our children a God-experience and Church-experience that will hopefully stay with them into their futures and School Masses which are so important in the life of our Catholic Schools.

Intentions for Lourdes Pilgrimage
If anyone wants intentions brought to the shrine of Our Lady then please place them in an envelope, (with no money in it) and give them to myself or Tommy O’Toole.
Also if you wish any intentions to be included in the Masses I celebrate in Lourdes please place them in an envelope clearly marked ‘Fr. Dominic Lourdes Masses’ with any donation that you wish to give. I go very early morning on Thursday 18th July, so I’ll be checking the post lastly on the morning of the 17th July.

Kenny’s Desk
This past week has been really busy with the lead up to the children breaking up from school for the summer holidays. Busy with meetings, busy with Diploma work and also busy family life. I’ve also had the worry of my Nan on my mind this last few weeks due to her being in hospital after a nasty fall and suffering further worrying complications. When life gets very busy or stressful, I think it’s very important to try to stop and just be. How often do we really just stop and be still? So it was a real blessing to be on a retreat with the other Pastoral Associates last week, to do just that. Make sure you try to stop and be still, if you are busy or having a worrying time. And don’t forget, if you need someone to talk to, please take one of my contact cards from the back of church and get in touch with me.

Lady or Sacred Heart Altar Lamps at Star will only be lit when intentions have been requested.
