Parish meeting to reflect on what proposals we find energy in under the title of “Building Community, Nurturing Belonging”:

Saint Oscar Romero 40th Anniversary Sunday 29th March 6pm at Liverpool Hope University Chapel L16 9JD

The Archbishop of Liverpool will preside. The relic of Romero will be venerated. At 7.15 Clare Dixon, Head of CAFOD’s Latin America Department/Romero Trust will speak on Romero Forty Years On. All Welcome to Mass or simply come to the talk.

One of the lay participants at the recent Amazon Synod, Leah Casimero, will be speaking at SFX Church, Liverpool, on Thursday 19th March at 7.30 p.m. Leah will share her unique perspective of the Amazon Synod as one of the youngest participants and the only English-Speaking indigenous woman in the synod hall.

Mass of Healing and Anointing of the Sick on Sunday, 8th March at 4:30pm at St Thomas of Canterbury Church.

Easter Card Campaign – 2020.

The contact details for parishes in the Holy Land are available at the back of the church. Please remember to return your cards to the back of church so that the Justice and Peace Group can post them off to the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem to ensure that they reach their destination. Feel free toinclude your name and address, if you wish, and there will be greetings in arabic for you to enclose with your cards.

By special request and for one night only, the film “The Two Popes” starring recently Oscar-nominated actors Anthony Hopkins (Pope Benedict) and     Jonathan Pryce (the future Pope Francis) will be shown on Sunday 1 March 2020 at 7.45pm in the Plaza Community Cinema, 13 Crosby Road North,     Waterloo, L22 0LD.  Tickets cost £4.00pp.  In the February edition of the Catholic Pic Archbishop Malcolm, speaking about this film wrote: “…try to     watch it.  It will get you thinking about the Church – and will give you some hope for its future.”

Tea and Coffee served from 7pm. Talk begins at 7:30pm and concludes at 8:45pm. Optional Night prayer follows at 9pm.


Please show your love this Lent. Eat a simple meal this Family Fast Day and give what you can to improve the health of our sisters and brothers around the world.  Envelopes are available at the back of the church.


If you want your Child Baptised you must fill in a baptismal request form (and leave your details for Parish Catechists to arrange a visit), be attending Mass regularly and attend a baptismal course. Dates only booked after course.  Please make sure you have completed forms prior to the course.

The next courses will take place at : 7:00pm on Monday, 2nd March at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church

Gleeforth, a community singing group, starting Tuesday 10th March at 5:30pm at Our Lady, Star of the Sea. All musical tastes catered for. No audition, no fee. Just come along and sing! Each weekly practice will last about an hour with a short refreshment break in the middle to help us get to know everyone!
